Regardless of what I may or may not say about myself, the stuff I am writing is true to the best of my knowledge. I may miss a date or a name or spell something incorrectly, but I am willing to correct any mistakes that are brought to my attention.
This is my version of an oral history. It is largely anecdotal and not intended for any particular use – other than to help pass on the character of this island and it’s people. It is limited to my quarter-century of living here, but includes lots of bits and pieces given to me by friends and acquaintances. Some things are funny and some are pretty predictable, but there is something to be learned from our colourful past.
Please feel free to contribute information you may have about Gabriola’s past. I hope to arrange interviews with some of the island’s elders and welcome any volunteers for this small project.
One thing I have learned after six months of blogging, is that getting feedback and/or establishing a bit of a dialogue with readers is a slow process.
